On Saturday evening, an Austrian Airlines A320neo registered OE-LZQ sustained severe damage on the ground at Vienna International Airport. The entire right-hand stabilizer broke off the aircraft after hitting a jet bridge. The aircraft’s right wing struck a utility pole and received damage as well.

The aircraft arrived as flight OS456 from London Heathrow and pulled into gate F11. Photos show that the accident took place near gate F33. According to reports, the aircraft was towed to a stand for parking where it was left without parking chocks or breaks. The plane then began rolling backwards before colliding with the jet bridge and light pole. The airline reported that no passengers or crew were on board during the incident.
