United Airlines 777 Loses Tire After Departure From SFO

A United Airlines 777-200ER lost a tire seconds after taking off from San Francisco International Airport resulting in the flight diverting to LAX. UA35 departed San Francisco (SFO) bound for Osaka (KIX) on march 7th. Not long after the incident, the plane turned south and burned fuel for 2 hours before touching down safely at Los Angeles International Airport at 13:36. No injuries were reported.

 

The aircraft involved in the incident was a 777-200ER registered N226UA which first flew for United Airlines in January of 2002. It is configured with 50 business, 24 premium economy, and 202 economy class seats.
